(October 28, 2014) – Harry Rosen introduced a sophomore collection of five special-edition pocket squares designed by Canadian artist Gary Taxali. The 100% silk pocket squares are now available in Harry Rosen stores across Canada and online at www.harryrosen.com.

Last year, the inaugural series featured the culturally-rich heritage of Canada highlighting our biggest cities and their landmarks.  The new series celebrates the “Art of Flirtation” for the modern man.  Each pocket square has a flirty fun message such as “I ♥ Us”, “Wink/Why Not Me”, “Crushing Big Time/ Make It Count”, “Call Me/Never Call Me” and “You Had Me at Good Bye/My Feelings Like You”.

Each piece of artwork is reproduced on high-quality Italian silk, with hand rolled and stitched edges creating a fluid canvas that Gary Taxali says “shows that fashion art and art can be fashion”.

Great art and good style if the result of honest intentions and personal expression,” says Taxali.  “These pocket squares are based on sketches I created to convey the playful side of flirtation which I find the mark of a true gentleman – just like the man that shops at Harry Rosen.  It’s an honour to be collaborating with them again showing that fashion and art are a great combination.”

Gary Taxali is an artist and award-winning illustrator whose work has appeared in GQ, Esquire and Rolling Stone. He visually blends now with then, drawing influence from vintage comics and advertising art to communicate the ironies and comical essence of pop culture.

Since our beginnings in 1054, we’ve proudly supported Canadian designers and manufacturers,” says Larry Rosen, CEO, Harry Rosen Inc.  “Gary Taxali is an incredible artist – a shining example of the immense talent our country has to offer.  These pocket squares present an opportunity for men to showcase their playful personalities while giving their look a lift.”

A launch party was held last month and pictures can be viewed here.  The Gary Taxali for Unfamous pocket squares retail for $95.  See them online here.  For more information, photographs, images or to arrange an interview, please contact Vandana Taxali at (416) 865-0800 or vandanat@rogers.com.
