Harry Rosen collaborates with acclaimed artist Gary Taxali to celebrate “The Art of Flirtation”
This fall, Harry Rosen introduces a new collection of five special-edition pocket squares designed by acclaimed Canadian artist Gary Taxali. The 100% silk pocket squares, created for Canada’s premiere menswear retailer, are available in select stores across Canada and online at www.harryrosen.com on October 8, 2014. Last year, the inaugural series celebrated the culturally-rich heritage of Canada and featured cities – Toronto, Montreal, Calgary, Vancouver and Canada. This new series celebrates the art of flirtation for the modern man. Each pocket square has a flirty fun message such as “I ♥ Us”, “Wink/Why Not Me”, “Crushing Big Time/ Make It Count”, “Call Me/Never Call Me” and “You Had Me at Good Bye/My Feelings Like You”. “Since we started in 1954, we’ve proudly supported Canadian designers,” says Larry Rosen, CEO, Harry Rosen Inc. “Gary Taxali is an incredible artist – a shining example of the immense talent our country has to offer. These pocket squares are a great opportunity for men to showcase their playful personalities and give their look a lift.” Each piece of artwork is reproduced on high-quality Italian silk, with hand rolled and stitched edges creating a fluid canvas to style a suit or hang as a piece of art. “Great art and good style is the result of honest intentions and personal expression,” says Gary Taxali. “These pocket squares are based on sketches I created to convey the playful side of flirtation which I find the mark of a true gentlemen – just like the man that shops at Harry Rosen. It’s an honour to be collaborating with them again showing that fashion and art are a great combination”.
